How it started.
After working within the colourful world of children’s print, products and illustration for several years, Abbey jumped into Freelance life back in 2017. Sure, it was bewildering and a little scary at first, but with now over a decade of experience in creating playful lifestyle products, Abbey felt it was time to introduce Studio Colourplay.
Why we do it.
Abbey began her journey into the rollercoaster ride of Motherhood in the Spring of 2020, and since then she has wholeheartedly thrown herself into everything Kids related. Designing for Children’s products took on a whole new meaning and focus once Abbey met Oscar.
Practicality, sustainability and quality all play a big part in creating beautiful and well-made designs. And so Abbey’s love for all things print combined with her becoming a Mum, gave her a new prospective and passion to design the best printed goods and products for our little ones.
(At the age of two and a half, Oscar has already been appointed our chief decision maker and is always keen to take part in the illustration side).
Sustainability.
We chose to work with brands and small businesses who value sustainability as much as we do. Our ethos is not only to create beautiful design work, but to do so thoughtfully and consciously. Everything is considered, from researching sustainable print materials to ensuring we are reducing our environmental impact both in and out of the studio. We really value clients who take it upon themselves to take care of our planet and leave the world a better place for our kids.

Studio Colourplay is based in Leeds, UK. Abbey works on a colourful array of projects from her home studio remotely, however she is always keen to visit clients in-house or whatever suits you. Consultations and design meetings can be held face-to-face or via video call. She is always available and happy to talk about new projects.
